Happy Easter to all of our customers! As of Good Friday (30th March) we’ll now open until 10pm both in the restaurant and the Terrace Bar from Friday through until Saturday. Come and dine with us for dinner or sit outside on the terrace and watch the sunset over the shoreline.

On Thursday’s from the 5th April we’ll be running our Just Fish & Chips Buy One Get One Free offer – from 5pm-8pm we wil be serving our famous fish * chips exclusively….and it will be Buy One Get One Free all night.

Food is love, love to share… *new* sharing dishes this February

Why celebrate Valentine’s for just one day? This February, in honour of the month of love we’ll be creating a range of delectable fish dishes perfect for sharing.

From grilled whole fish, to succulent seafood platters and crispy Frito Misto you can expect a changing selection depending on what the fisherman brings in!

Featuring comforting and decadent additions including Pan Roasted Venison Sausages with Puy lentils and a Dijon mustard cream sauce;  Smoked Haddock topped with cheese and mustard gratin, with crushed new potatoes, poached egg and wilted spinach and Confit Duck Leg with winter vegetable salad of celeriac , beetroot, fennel, red onion and mixed leaves.  

We know you’ll be spoilt for choice but make sure you leave room for dessert – will it be the Spiced Apple Spiced Crème brûlée with a cinnamon waffle or the Rich Chocolate Nemesis served with a vanilla crème fraiche ?

Recipe: Whole Baked Apple Crumble

On a cold autumn day nothing beats a lovely roast dinner finished off with a everyone’s favourite; the classic apple crumble.  Our Head Chef Ben knows a thing or two about puds and has kindly shared his recipe for this posh version of a whole baked apple encased in crumble mix.  It’s much easier than you think and looks very impressive  –  making it perfect for entertaining or, dare we say it , a lighter alternative to a traditional  Christmas pudding. Serve it with homemade vanilla custard or ice-cream (or both!)

 

Whole Baked Apple – serves 10

 

Ingredients

10     Cooking Apples  ( small-medium)

1pint    Apple Juice

1pint    White wine

2lb      Sugar

2          Cinnamon Stick

1          Star Anise

6          Pink Pepper Corns

5          Cloves

 

Crumble Mix

2oz      Caster Sugar

4oz      Butter

6oz      Flour

1oz      Oats

1tbl     Ground Almonds

 

Rhubarb Compote

Rhubarb and Caster Sugar (10% of sugar to weigh of rhubarb)

 

 

Method

Create poaching liquor by adding all ingredients (less apples) to a large pan and simmer.

Peel and core apples and place in the simmering liquid for 5 minutes and then turn and poach for another 5 minutes.

Once cooled fill the centre of the apple with the rhubarb compote and pane the apple in the crumble mix

Bake off in the oven at 180c until golden brown.(approx. 20-25 minutes) and garnish with a mint leaf stem.

Serve with custard or vanilla ice-cream.

Warm goat’s cheese on a crostini with celery, watercress, mulled poach pear and candied walnuts

Shredded confit duck, honey roasted fig, spring onion, mizuna and a sesame and soya dressing

Traditional turkey with all the trimmings

Braised blade of beef with roast garlic mash potato, baby onions, pancetta, kale and a whisky jus

Pan-fried fillet of salmon, caper and dill crushed new potatoes, braised leeks and a beurre blanc

Roast butternut squash and pumpkin risotto with spinach, sage crème fraiche and toasted pine nuts
